Aloft Hotel to Open in September Near Philadelphia Airport A new Aloft hotel will open in September near the Philadelphia International Airport. Aloft, by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. (NYSE:HOT), is billed as "an urban-influenced design" brand with "style and social atmosphere." Guest rooms will include high-tech features like wireless Internet access and "one-stop connectivity" for PDAs, cell phones, mp3 players and laptops. "This hotel ... will be a true oasis in style and creativity," said Nina Timani, an Aloft spokeswoman. The hotel will open Sept. 8, Starwood said. The street address will be 4301 Island Ave. Rates will average $200 to $229 a night, about double the average rate for airport hotels, according to PKF Consulting, which tracks hotel rates. Average rates at hotels near the Philadelphia airport were $111 in April and $167 in Center City Philadelphia. |
